Inland revenue recent prosecutions include:
An upper Hutt Electrician who made payroll deductions from employees but didn’t forward those to IRD for 5.5 years – 11 months home detention and $20,000 in reparations.
A Canterbury woman who claimed GST refunds she wasn’t entitled to – 2 years, 6 months in prison.
Companies office recent prosecutions include:
Mr Peppa failed to attend the offices of the liquidator for the purposes of examination and failed to deliver company records to the liquidator – 3 months community detention and 140 hours community work.
Mr Bergen aka (lots of different names!) acted as a director and managed a company while prohibited to do so and also for made a false statement with respect to a document required by the Companies Act 1993 – 2 years, 3 months imprisonment
